Company Overview:
Kercargo Pastoral Company is seeking a dedicated Farmhand to join our family property located 30km east of Walgett in North West NSW. Our 27,000 acre mixed farming operation consists of 12,000 acres of dry land cropping, 1,750 acres of flood-irrigated cropping, and 13,250 acres of grazing country. We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team for an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities:
Dry Land Cropping: Assisting with wheat, chickpeas, and faba beans cultivation.
Irrigated Cropping: Involvement in cotton farming.
Grazing: Managing a 430-head breeder herd of shorthorn and Angus x cows, with trading opportunities.
General Farm Duties: Participating in fencing, yard building, and general farm maintenance and infrastructure work.
Irrigation Management: Handling flood irrigation, starting and stopping syphons, and managing channel heights.
Machinery Operation: Experience in operating GPS systems and heavy machinery is advantageous, including controlled traffic dry land farming, front wheel assist and track machines, graders, diggers, and spray rigs.
Valid Car License: Possess a valid car license for farm operations.
Requirements:
Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently.
Energetic with a strong work ethic.
Flexibility to work across multiple farming enterprises.
Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety (OH&S/WHS) practices.
Australian work rights.
