Harrold Pastoral Co. is a well-established, family-owned farming enterprise based in Penola, SA, and Lake Mundi, VIC. Our business specializes in Black Angus cattle breeding and fattening, pasture and hay production, a potato cool store operation (6 months of the year), and lamb feedlot management.
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Hand to join our team. The Farm Hand will play a crucial role in various aspects of farm operations, including:
Pasture management and improvement, including spraying and livestock rotations.
All aspects of livestock care, from breeding to fattening, including stockyard work.
Centre pivot irrigation monitoring and maintenance.
Feedlot feeding and water management responsibilities.
Lucerne crop monitoring and potato cool store in-loading, out-loading, and monitoring.
Skills Required:
Successful applicants should possess the following skills:
Livestock handling, including quiet movement of stock, working in stockyards, and feeding.
Basic fencing skills.
Basic mechanical skills.
Tractor driving experience.
Water system repairs and maintenance.
Centre pivot repairs and maintenance.
An MC truck license would be favorable.
A forklift license would be favorable but can be arranged.
Previous experience in a similar role.
