The Opportunity
Whyalla Beef’s Project Manager is a key, strategic role. The responsibilities of the role include project management of significant strategic and operational objectives. The first priority of the role is a major upgrade to the feedlot pens and infrastructure – the first major upgrade since construction, 30 years ago.
This role will manage site and Mill maintenance, Stores, the site Workshop, and Fleet Management; and be responsible for those teams delivering ongoing and routine maintenance of Whyalla Feedlot. In addition, projects relating to upgrades of all infrastructure, plant and equipment, including the Mill and private roads, will form part of the Project Manager’s portfolio of work.
Key responsibilities
Managing and Coordinating a broad range of site projects and operational related mill and maintenance requirements.
Optimising and improving project management processes across the business.
Complete project concept work, in consultation with relevant partners;
Scope projects, including budgets and present business cases for each proposal;
Manage tendering and supplier selection processes as needed;
Manage contract administration and ensure all relevant insurances, terms and conditions are present;
Manage the resources of each project and ensure all resourcing is within approved levels;
Liaising with partners and external providers to oversee and quality assure the progress of each project;
Regularly, minimum monthly, report the project progress, budget and milestones;
Manage the planning, resourcing, and budgeting of all routine and ongoing maintenance across the feedlot
To be considered for this position, you must have:
A strong track record in project and contract delivery with specific project examples and the ability to articulate methodology
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
A robust and direct approach to negotiation (including disputes) and people management of both direct and indirect staff
A demonstrated approach to safety and standards with an eye for detail for both the project and the processes involved in delivery
Solid stakeholder management skills
Ability to direct, guide and motivate the team
Drivers’ licence – nil restrictions
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and are Q-Fever vaccinated (or willing to obtain).
Previous Feedlot/Agriculture experience (highly regarded)
