Quails' Gate Vineyard is looking for a hardworking, mechanically inclined individual who has a passion for the outdoors. The successful candidate will work with an outstanding vineyard team, supporting our sustainability initiatives and ensuring the smooth operation of farm equipment supporting the vineyard team. There is lots of opportunity to grow with our team and the Vineyard provides an environment perfect venue to refine your craft.

Seasonal Work (8-9 month contract)

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Light Tractor, Quad, or duties on mechanical equipment as directed including

  • Carry out fertilizing and spraying

  • Detect disease and health problems and report to supervisor/manager

  • Harvesting operations (tracker operation)

  • Maintaining and managing growth of vines, canopy and grapes: pruning, tying, shoot positioning, fruit thinning, weeding and upkeeping of the cleanliness of the vineyard, workshop, barns and farm areas.

  • Report any problems to Crew Lead and/or Equipment Supervisor

  • Other duties as requested by, or in conjunction with Supervisor/Managers

Requirements

  • Able to work in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures

  • Available to work varying hours, depending on vineyard requirements

  • Team player

  • Viticulture/Horticulture/Gardening experience an asset

  • Previous Experience in basic tractor operations and/or equipment operation

  • Commitment to furthering your education and knowledge of viticulture

Wage Range: $19 - $22 based on experience.
