Position Title: Greenhouse Term Labourer

Salary: $29.10 per hour + 14-17% in lieu of benefits, vacation and statutory holidays

Days of Work: Monday to Friday and Shift work including Saturday and Sunday

Job Summary/Basic Function: A Labourer physically assists City work crews.

Duties

Assisting greenhouse staff with the hanging basket and planter program (includes early morning watering), as well as bedding plants throughout the City’s parks.

Tasks include but not limited to: Planting, weeding, watering, bending, kneeling and carrying loads.

Qualifications

Highschool Diploma or Equivalent

Experience performing general labourer duties

Experience in horticulture

Excellent customer service and communications skills

Flexibility and teamwork

Driver’s License Class 5

A Level II First Aid Certificate would be an asset

Hours of Work

Varied times depending on shift

Spring: 6:00am to 2:30pm

Summer: 4:00am to 12:30pm
