Position Summary
Reporting to the Parks & Special Projects Coordinator. The Parks Labourer is a seasonal position assisting in the maintenance of County parks spaces, properties and campgrounds.
Position Responsibilities
Grass cutting and trimming of varied spaces using powered mobile and hand held equipment.
Maintenance, upkeep and repair of various parks amenities including weeding, pruning, sanding and painting of picnic tables, bleachers and fences.
Lifting and placing of facility equipment.
Safe operation of County vehicles and equipment such as pick up trucks and trailers.
Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of vehicles, equipment and tools as used in the work tasks.
Manual labour tasks to include garbage and recycling collection and disposal, trail clearing and wood stacking.
Completion of work site and vehicle safety hazard inspections.
Maintain and complete record keeping for equipment and vehicle maintenance.
Responsible to submit invoices and timesheets.
Minimum Qualifications
Clean Class 5 driver's license
Defensive Driving completion.
Completion of Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
Standard First Aid and CPR
Experience with home and yard maintenance
Working Environment
Work is conducted primarily outdoors in all weather.
Physical exertion required.
Public contact may be confrontational.
The wage range is $22.26 to $24.24 per hour. This is a seasonal position from approximately May 1, 2023 to August 31, 2023. Position will be based out of Edson and Wildwood. Competition closes February 17, 2023 Only those considered will be contacted.
