Green Valley Dairies Ltd, a prominent organic dairy farm in Waikato, is seeking an experienced Dairy Farm Manager to oversee the operations of our 800-head spring calving herd. Join our dedicated team and contribute to the success of our family-owned and operated farms.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day farming operations of a medium to large dairy farm, ensuring efficient herd management and high milk production.
Lead and motivate a team of permanent staff, providing guidance, training, and fostering a culture of empowerment and teamwork.
Uphold the highest standards of animal welfare and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Demonstrate expertise in pasture management, including fencing, water reticulation, and optimizing grazing practices.
Utilize advanced milking technology, such as the latest Delaval plant with del-pro and cow manager, to enhance productivity and herd performance.
Maintain a clean and organized farm environment, reflecting your commitment to excellence.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years' experience managing medium to large dairy farms, with a proven track record of effective team management.
Strong communication skills and the ability to empower and train team members to make informed decisions.
Sound knowledge of animal welfare practices and adherence to health and safety protocols.
Proficiency in pasture management, including fencing and water reticulation.
Commitment to maintaining a drug-free farm, with the ability to pass drug, police, and medical checks.
Current work visa and residency in New Zealand, along with at least two referees.
