Full Job Description
The Laboratory Courier is the face of Dick White Referrals to all our external clients and is a key part of our Laboratory team. This role is responsible for collecting samples from a regular route of veterinary practices across East Anglia (including Essex, Norfolk, and Suffolk).
The position is working every Friday for up to 10 hours, starting at 14:00. No weekends or bank holidays are required. Flexibility to cover staff annual leave/sickness is desirable. Paid overtime is available where necessary
Key Skills
Collect and deliver samples in a well organised, timely and professional manner
Careful and up to date record keeping
Maintain vehicle cleanliness, internally and externally
Carry out daily and weekly vehicle checks performing general maintenance tasks including checking oil, tyre pressures etc
Report any vehicle faults or defects immediately
Represent DWR in a friendly and professional manner
Cover colleagues' routes when they are on annual leave
Follow and abide by all road laws and legislation at all times
Drive in a professional and courteous manner.
Essential
Full, clean driving license
Ability to use satellite navigation systems and plan routes effectively.
Preferred
Previous driving experience of a similar role is preferred although not essential
Some light mechanical knowledge would be ideal e.g., changing bulbs, checking oil levels, changing tyres etc.
