We are looking for up to 700 staff to fulfil our requirements for the 2023 citrus, avocado and grape season in the Riverland Region, SA. The primary season starts from April to November (for 6-8months), however there are some harvest, packing and general farm labouring roles available all year round (for 6-9 months).

These roles involve completing a variety of duties including fruit picking, thinning, packing, crop care, and general farm labouring, cleaning and housekeeping. Licenced or skilled/experienced roles are also available such as forklift operators, team leaders and supervisors. All positions are offered on a casual basis.

These roles are physically demanding and require employees to be physically fit and capable of performing the repetitive and demanding nature of the work including carrying of weight up to 20kgs, frequent ladder climbing, bending, squatting, stacking cartons on the box-line (up to 20kg), pre-packs, auto-packers, floor-general, container-loading computer-pack, receivals, despatch or any other general farming and packing duties designated by a supervisor/leading hand, throughout a shift.

The hours and specific farm location of work for picking will vary daily depending on weather conditions and market demands, however do require early starts and late finishes, with all rosters requiring work on weekdays and weekends. Own transport required as work is on located on remote rural properties in the Riverland region, including Renmark, Murtho, Paringa, Pike Creek, Loxton and Lindsay Point.

Picking is paid on a piece rate, other roles may be paid on an hourly rate or piece rate, all are in accordance with the Agreements listed below.

Picking piece rates are in accordance with the Vitor Citrus Harvest Agreement 2021, the piece rate amount for an average competent picker is $30.74 (casual rate) per hour of work.

Thinning, crop care, housekeeping and cleaning are paid on an hourly rate in accordance with the Vitor Citrus Harvest Agreement 2021. The Level 1 rate is $26.79 (casual rate) per hour of work.

Packing is paid in accordance with the Vitor Citrus Packhouse Agreement 2020-2024. The Level 1 rate is $26.74 (casual rate) per hour of work.
