Job Description

Our client is an industry leading agribusiness with sophisticated operations located in Swansea, Tasmania. They are currently looking to fill 5 Orchard Hand positions.

You will be responsible for the competent operation of all the following farm equipment, spraying, pruning, harvesting, mowing and all farming plant in general. In addition, irrigation duties when required. Your work will be weather dependant and you will be required to commit to 12 months if offered the position.

You will be paid under the Horticulture Award - Level 3, at an hourly rate of $22.57 per hour, and 1 year contract with an average minimum of 38 hours per week.

Key duties include:

• Chemcert or willingness to obtain

• Carry out Irrigation

• Carry out repairs to Irrigation equipment

• Report accurately on job progress and keep records when required

• Maintain a high degree of housekeeping of all plant, tools and the farm in general

• Be able to work unsupervised or as a part of a team

• Be willing to work shift work

• Interact effectively with other staff to enhance the smooth and professional operation of the Orchard

• Machinery operation

• All farming plant in general

• Flexibility to work shift work, as required

Key Skills & Experience

To be considered for the roles, it's important that you meet the following criteria:

• Machinery operation experience

• Driver's licence

• Experience in farm WH&S and be prepared to implement risk strategies within the workplace

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
