Description
We are recruiting pig farm workers for a farrow-to-finisher breeder unit situated in Northern Country Victoria, 3 hours north of Melbourne.
Our client has a 2500-sow farm, and they breed and raise fresh pork for the Australian market. They are looking to recruit Pig Stockpersons who wish to join their small but dedicated team. The producers have two breeding sites, both with their own grower sites – one unit has 1500 sows and the other 800 sows, both indoors and straw-based.
Duties include:
To plan, organise, control, coordinate and perform farming operations to breed and raise piggery livestock in the breeder unit, including the mating shed and dry sow shed
Farrowing shed where the sows/gilts give birth, and the piglets are cared for during the four weeks after they are born
Successful applicants will be required to work in all areas of pig production if needed. However, if lacking skills in some areas, training will be provided.
Other skills which would be an advantage but not essential:
Welding
General maintenance skills
Tractor operations experience
Telehandler experience
Skid Steer experience
Truck Licence
Our clients are looking for applicants with long-term plans to come to Australia under the 482 Visa (assistance available) but will consider those looking to go via a Working Holiday Visa.
