Vineyard Assistant - Warkworth, Auckland

Runner Duck Estate Ltd, part of the Plume Collection group based in Matakana, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Vineyard Assistant. As a SWNZ certified vineyard, we take pride in producing high-quality grapes for our captive restaurant, villa guests, and cellar door visitors. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team in a beautiful vineyard setting.

The Role:

As a Vineyard Assistant, you will work closely with the Vineyard Manager and a small team to support all vineyard operations. This includes tasks such as pruning, tucking, bud rubbing, shoot thinning, harvest support, and other viticulture operations. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal opportunity for individuals with a passion for viticulture or those studying in the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with various vineyard tasks as directed by the Vineyard Manager.

  • Learn and apply viticulture techniques including spray management and tractor operations.

  • Work closely with the team to ensure the highest standards of vineyard maintenance.

  • Uphold health and safety protocols in the workplace.

  • Show commitment to the quality principles that define our vineyard.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • No prior experience required, although experience in viticulture or related studies is advantageous.

  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.

  • Good physical fitness, excellent vision, and a love for working outdoors.

  • Ability to work well within a team and independently.

  • Valid New Zealand driver's license and own vehicle.

  • Must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.

  • Willingness to relocate to the Warkworth region if not already based there.
