Job Description:
Farm Hand and Irrigation Hand - Multiple Roles Available
Are you passionate about the outdoors and ready to contribute to the agriculture industry? Costa's Pty Ltd is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Farm Hand/Irrigation Hand. While prior farm-based or irrigation experience is preferred, we welcome candidates with a 'can do' attitude, a willingness to learn, and the flexibility to work varying hours based on harvest and operational demands. This position starts as casual, with the potential for permanent employment for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate tractors for tasks such as weedicing, slashing, mulching, citrus harvest, and fertilizing.
Perform basic service and maintenance of farm equipment.
Mix and distribute fertilizers, maintaining accurate records of usage.
Monitor and maintain on-site water infrastructure, including drip irrigation and sprinkler systems.
Repair and maintain irrigation lines, filters, valves, pumps, and related equipment.
Clean filters, flush driplines, and unblock sprinklers.
Contribute to general farm labor as required.
Requirements:
Desire to build a long-term career in horticulture.
Experience operating tractors and forklifts is a plus, or a willingness to attend paid training.
Must have an AusChem certificate or be willing to attend paid training.
Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision.
Possess reliable transportation and a valid Driver's License.
